The Lebrons

A couple months ago me along with other flash animators and designers at House Of Cool worked on a couple of commercials that were for Microsoft/Bing and Intel. The commercial spots used characters that were developed at house of Cool called The Lebrons. As much as they were uploaded onto Lebron's youtube channel, they were restricted in some countries...Canada being on of them. I'm not sure whether they are visible now but there is Vimeo Channel belonging to the director. The commercials were animated in Flash in house, while the episodes were animated over-seas. It was a great project to work on with extremely talented team of designers and animators.....

Gimp is cool!

Recently made the transition to Open Source software and while I had some initial headaches, I've got to say, I've been pleasantly surprised with Blender, GIMP and the Ubuntu (Linux) OS.

Still a few kinks to iron out and I haven't fully made the transition, but I've got to say it's been pretty cool. Also, There's a lot to like about GIMP, I thought I wouldn't be able to adjust after using Photoshop for so long, but it's been pretty cool and the brush system is pretty powerful and the are apparently making even more enhancements for the future version.

More Gimp stuff to come,

I thought th art direction is really cool. Since i really like those games that combine real (3D) textures and 2D(3D with a 2D feel and look) character animation.

Its worth 5 minutes of your time to play. Also let me know if you get past that box tutorial.

Jeff Lew's Killer Bean Forever.

Below is the first scene of the feature length movie, that he produced entirely on his own. It took him 5 years to complete it, and done under 1 million dollars.

The opening sequence has some cool dancing in it too!

Series pilot "NINJAMAICA" will be airing Friday October 16th 2009 at the Ottawa Film Festival. I worked on pre-production designs and flash assets with a pinch of animation. Plus I was told it be available for purchase on iTUNES (I'm excited about that one).

With a slew of HOC's affiliated and finest who worked on the project, its definitely worth checking out if you're in town.

Hey everyone,

First of all, thanks to Greg, Frankie, Alicia and Barry for coming out..also Emily, Tamara and Doren for the moral support...and to everyone else who wanted to come but couldn't. Also, big thanks to the people at the Distillery for letting us participate. It was awesome! One of the better art experiences I've had in a while.

As you can see from the pictures, this is the mural from Saturday night at Nuit Blanche...We didn't know what to expect, but it was a lot of fun. And the painting turned out pretty cool too.

It was cool to paint in front of a crowd like that...if not a little nerve wracking at times. Especially since Greg and I had just come up with a quick concept when we got there. Funny enough, the final concept is nothing like what we had discussed, we just kind of improvised. It was really cool when onlookers would ask..'can anyone just paint on it?' Which I didn't really know how to respond to, so I was just like 'yeah - go ahead' So this is a collaborative effort. We had parents and kids helping out, art lovers, students and passersby add a brush stroke or two to the final piece.

The total piece took us about 5 hrs to complete, 6 if you include setting up the canvas.

We said a prayer before we started and by Gods grace we were blessed with good weather - no rain, no clouds, not too cold. Thank you ^

So again, here are some pics, hope you enjoy...we're already formulating plans for next year!

Here's my first Full Circle self portrait attempt! I wanted it to be simple and humorous so that's what it is :) I'm open to change so if anyone has some constructive critique I would love to hear it!

Process-wise, I inked and coloured over a blue pencil sketch in Photoshop. Initially I tried to ink it in Sketchbook Pro but just wasn't feeling the end result. I've been having weird issues with SB Pro where it will save files at a way lower resolution then what I start with. Weird.

Full Circle spinning disc thingies

Hey everyone, I just wanted to thank everyone who was able to come out on Tuesday to help put together those spinning discs. The printer said it was going to be lots of work, but we finished in about 2 and a half hours.

As a part of our marketing initiative, Alonzo is now in San Diego distributing them, we've also got some flyers which I am distributing door to door here in Toronto.

Thanks to Jeanette and Greg for the design of the discs and Greg for the design on the flyers.

Thanks to Alonzo for taking them down to San Diego, hopefully we'll be able to join you next year.
